{"id":7799,"date":"2023-02-09T23:10:20","date_gmt":"2023-02-10T04:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/americacellbank.com.co\/sin-categorizar\/regenerative-medicine-advances-in-knee-osteoarthritis"},"modified":"2024-09-04T16:55:39","modified_gmt":"2024-09-04T21:55:39","slug":"regenerative-medicine-advances-in-knee-osteoarthritis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/americacellbank.com.co\/en\/blog\/regenerative-medicine-advances-in-knee-osteoarthritis\/","title":{"rendered":"Regenerative medicine advances in knee osteoarthritis."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Regenerative medicine: One of the most common diseases is osteoarthritis of the knee, the most prevalent joint disease, which causes joint pain, functional loss and disability.<br \/>\nThanks to current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americacellbank.com.co\/category\/investigacion\">research<\/a>, it has been demonstrated that <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/23680930\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mesenchymal<\/a> stem cells from umbilical cord tissue have great potential for treatment of various diseases, among which powerful research has been carried out with very positive results.<br \/>\nIn relation to a study carried out in Valladolid, Spain, 30 patients with chronic knee pain were evaluated, where they did not respond to conservative treatments.<br \/>\nThey faced a treatment with mesenchymal cells, where by means of intra-articular injections of 40 \u00d7 10(6) cells and intra-articular hyaluronic acid applying 60 mg, single dose, in the affected area, which was applied to evaluate the improvement in these patients.     <\/p>\n<h2><strong>What were the results obtained by these patients?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>  The <a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT01586312\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">clinical results<\/a> confirmed the feasibility and safety of mesenchymal stem cell treatment in patients with knee osteoarthritis, giving them significant improvement in the area of cartilage, decreased pain, disability and most importantly quality of life.  <\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why is regenerative medicine an alternative for health?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>  Mesenchymal stem cell therapy with umbilical cord tissue is considered a valid alternative for the treatment of chronic osteoarthritis of the knee and other diseases; the intervention required is simple, does not require surgery and relieves pain.  <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/25822648\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/25822648\/\">Learn more<\/a><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regenerative medicine: One of the most common diseases is osteoarthritis of the knee, the most prevalent joint disease, which causes joint pain, functional loss and disability.
