Thanks to current research, it has been demonstrated that mesenchymal stem cells from umbilical cord tissue have great potential for treatment of various diseases, among which powerful research has been carried out with very positive results.
In relation to a study carried out in Valladolid, Spain, 30 patients with chronic knee pain were evaluated, where they did not respond to conservative treatments.
They faced a treatment with mesenchymal cells, where by means of intra-articular injections of 40 × 10(6) cells and intra-articular hyaluronic acid applying 60 mg, single dose, in the affected area, which was applied to evaluate the improvement in these patients.

The clinical results confirmed the feasibility and safety of mesenchymal stem cell treatment in patients with knee osteoarthritis, giving them significant improvement in the area of cartilage, decreased pain, disability and most importantly quality of life.
